Ps3 finally hacked!

I saw this a few weeks back on IGN but was to lazy to make a thread lol. The only reason I would hack my PS3 would be to play PS2 game tbh.

Its not worth hacking it IMO.

It can't be used yet, someone has to create a loader. It also would stop working after the next firmware update comes out.

Yea for sure. I havent had my playstation hooked up for like a month and a half. I'm doing renovations on my basement/mancave. So as soon as i get everything back up and running i will accept.

This isn't a big deal until there's unsigned code running, which requires access to the SPE's and there's a ton of work involved in decrypting them. A lot of Linux groups tried decrypting the SPE's so you could use advanced features like 3d processing and hi-def video on a PS3's Linux installation, but they ultimately failed to gain access to any of the SPE's or the RSX graphics processor.
