I don't think I've ever heard someone describe him as the "best wrestler in the world". Maybe entertaining or best on the mic, but best wrestler has always gone to guys like Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit...etc.

I think the closest I've ever came to calling him the best in the world was 1995. But even then there were at least ten wrestlers I would rank over him. Jericho is a great technical wrestler, and he has some of the best mic skills in wrestling. That said, there has always been better wrestlers, plain and simple.

It's unsurprising that he'd be overhyped - he is a good all round performer, I think people had forgotten that during his absence as there aren't many who are like him in WWE.
