Idea regarding guests

I'm pretty sure guests can see all areas of this forum, without signing up

How about making them sign up?


For example. Anyone can see all areas of this forum (to my knowledge)

How about have members only access to certain areas etc?


Hopefully it will have an increase of people registering! x

Agreed. It should increase the amount of members in the long run as they would have to sign up to see what its all about. As opposed to just casually roaming the forums freely reading all posts (if thats how it currently is now) without making any contribution what so ever.

Alex says it's mostly or usually just google bots and spammers.

General discussion is closed so no one can see that, as well as the video vault and downloD stuff. I agree with you guys tho

if you close off the best and most active parts of the site then you are going to loose people finding the site through search engines as you wont be able to yeild many results if you have to be logged in to find them.

i used to run a forum where it was all rave music and i used to upload loads of it for people on my servers, i used to leave all the main chat sections open to bring in the search results but leave the audio sections visable but if you clicked on them it forces you to login/signup

used to work alright for getting people to sign up and log in , i also had visable but with no entry a secret or vip forum, where i would add people who were regulars into the site and they would be able to get into this section and get at the secret audio too, people really seemed to like they were invited to the special bit that everyone knew about and was a good way to get people to participate in chat alot more coz if they wernt doing that or leaving decent feedback on threads where the links to the music were then they wouldnt be get it added to their account manually by me, i was pretty easy going for letting people in so u had people trying to muck in knowing it after a month or so on the site as a reg poster not causing trouble they would be invited in, i also did it for people i knew off other sites who i thought would be usefull additions, told em about the audio and secret stashes and brought them in straight away with vip
